William Allen is a Board Member of the Aquinnah Wampanoag Gaming Corporation. He is an elder and fondly known by his Tribal members as Little Flying Feet. Mr. Allen currently resides in Brockton, Massachusetts, and is a widower. His career has been in Construction, as an Inspector for the Commonwealth and he is currently retired. He received his education at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and graduated in 1961 and went on to attend the School of Business at Eastern Nazarene College.
Along with serving on the Aquinnah Gaming Corporation, he is also a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time he enjoys flying, as he is a student pilot, and playing golf. When he isn’t hard at work, attending meetings and joining in on the various conference calls to assist in bringing Economic Development initiatives to his people, he enjoys listening to Country Music, Jazz and Classical.
As a Tribal Elder, Bill has often stated that it would do his heart well, to see that his people are all financial secure and the Tribe is able to flourish and function in a self-sufficient way. He serves on the Board to make sure that he is making a difference in the lives of the Aquinnah Wampanoag people. He believes his efforts will assist the future generations of Aquinnah with better Health Care, Education, Housing and Cultural Preservation activities, just to name a few. These things, according to Bill, can be realized through a comprehensive plan that includes Gaming.
